| Ryker's Dream Orphan Ministry and Relief |
| James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. |
| “Adoption means that God loves us enough to bring us into His forever family.” (Successful Adoption: A Guide for Christian Families, author Natalie Nichols Gillespie) God is great! We all have a need to belong. He made us that way and wants us to belong to Him and His family. He desires for us all to have families; a safe place, to be loved, and to be provided for. We all need Forever Families. As Christians, God lovingly commands us to love others, especially the young, poor and innocent. Three reasons come to mind when I think about why I am called to this ministry. First, to help meet the physical needs of orphans. They need to know Christians care about them. Which means their physical needs have to be met. This can be done through Ryker’s Dream. Second, my heart breaks when I think of children without families. Boys and girls need daddies and mommies. I grew up in a split family. God has used this to stir up my heart for children, and I want to be a part of God’s plan for helping kids find their Forever Family. Thirdly and most importantly, when these children’s physical needs are met, either through assistance to the orphanages or in their Forever Families, they will be more tuned in to hearing the Gospel and choosing salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. This ministry can share the Gospel, through mission teams and personal relationships, or through helping parents with the adoption process and getting these children into Christian homes where God’s Word is taught and lived out.
